Chuck
"Chuck vs. Practice"

Chuck is getting tired of always being rescued by Casey, and wants to practice escaping.

This scene occurs early in the series; Morgan doesn't know yet that Chuck's a spy.

"Sure, c'mon over. We'll order a pizza."
Chuck put away his phone and thought about how he'd approach Morgan with his idea. His friend might think it was a little weird, but he'd do it - Chuck knew he could talk Morgan into almost anything. He just had to keep his newfound abilities secret, at least for now.

A few minutes later, Morgan appeared at the door and barreled past Chuck.
"Let's get that pizza. I'm hungry."

"Wait a second. There's something I want to do first," said Chuck.

"What's that, buddy?"

Chuck produced some rope from his pocket. "I want you to tie me up, so I can try to get loose."

Morgan peered at Chuck. "What's this about? You were never into this shit before. Not that you told me, anyway. And shouldn't you be asking a girl to do this?"

"It's not like that, Morgan. It's not a sex thing." Chuck's actual reason was that he wanted to get some practice escaping so that Casey wouldn't have to rescue him all the time, but he couldn't tell Morgan that. He searched for a pretense. "I was watching this show about how kidnappings are increasing and I want to be ready just in case."

Morgan didn't know whether to believe that, but figured Chuck would tell him what was going on eventually. "Okay, as long as it's not a sex thing."

"I promise," said Chuck, as he finished tying his own feet together. He sat on the floor. "Now tie my hands behind me, and I'll try to get loose."

Morgan tied Chuck's hands behind his back and moved over to the couch, figuring he'd play video games while he waited.
Chuck began working at the knots, thinking about how much less embarrassed he'd be once Casey didn't have to rescue him on every mission. It wasn't easy, though. He wasn't having much more luck escaping from Morgan's knots than he did escaping from the various spies he'd encountered.

After about twenty minutes Morgan looked over to see Chuck writhing on the floor, still tied securely.

"Hey, can I at least call and order the pizza?"

"Just give me a few more minutes."

"It looks like you'd need a few more hours. You know, who would kidnap you, anyway? No one you know has any money."

"Okay, I give up," said Chuck. "You can untie me."

Figuring that now he'd get to eat at least, Morgan went to untie Chuck. As he finished doing so, Chuck jumped up. "Wait, I want to try one more thing," Chuck said as he disappeared into his room.

"Come on, Chuck. I'm really hungry."

Chuck emerged from his room carrying handcuffs and a roll of duct tape.
"You've gotta be kidding, dude," said Morgan.

"Look, this is the last thing. I'll put the key to these handcuffs in my mouth. Then you cuff me and put this tape over my mouth. I want to see if I can use the key to get loose."

"So you're gonna go around with a key in your mouth all the time in case you get kidnapped?"

"Morgan, I can't tell you everything that's going on right now. Just trust me, okay?"

"Okay, but after this we eat, right?"

"Right," said Chuck.

After Chuck put the key in his mouth, Morgan broke off some of the tape. "Is this enough?" he asked.

"Better use two or three pieces."

Morgan pasted several pieces of the tape over Chuck's mouth, then turned him around and cuffed his hands behind him.

"You've got ten minutes. Then I'm calling the pizza place." Morgan went back to the game.

Chuck began rubbing his chin against his shoulder and eventually worked one side of the tape loose. He spit the key onto the floor and knelt down to pick it up, only to find that the keyholes in the cuffs were facing away from his hands.
"Hey, you put these on backwards! I can't reach the keyhole."

"What, am I supposed to know how to put those on? And you think your imaginary kidnapper isn't gonna do the same thing? You're starting to freak me out, pal."

Chuck could tell that Morgan had had enough. "Okay, take these off and we'll eat."

Morgan began to free his friend. "You know, I can't say I'm not worried about you, buddy."

"It's okay, Morgan. There's nothing to worry about." At the same time, Chuck began to plot how he could get Morgan to tie him up again, or maybe he could get Awesome to do it. All Chuck knew was that he needed a lot more practice.
